Are you struggling to see God's hand in your current situation?

Read 2 Kings 6:15-17. Elisha's servant was struggling. On the brink of despair, he looked out over an entire army sent by the enemy of Israel to capture his master. He was overwhelmed, focused on what his eyes could see physically. Then, Elisha prayed, "Open his eyes, LORD, so that he may see" (2 Kings 6:17).

May God open our eyes to His overcoming power and overwhelming presence in our everyday lives.

In that moment, everything changed—and that servant suddenly saw how futile that measly army of Aram truly was. His spiritual eyes were opened, and behold—the hills were full of horses and chariots of fire—the infinitely more powerful army of the Lord.

In what area of your life do you need to pray for fresh perspective from God? Take a moment today to echo the prayer of Elisha, that God would open your own spiritual eyes, as well as the spiritual eyes of those around you. May God open our eyes to His overcoming power and overwhelming presence in our everyday lives.

Take some time to pray now:

"Lord, open my spiritual eyes to Your work in and around me. Open the spiritual eyes of my family. Open the spiritual eyes of my friends, neighbors, and co-workers. Open the spiritual eyes of those who don't know You. May we see You for who You really are. Amen."
