Save for Later

When many people hear the word disciple, they think only of the twelve who followed Jesus during His earthly ministry. Yet according to the Word of God, every believer who confesses Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord is called to be His disciple and to make disciples of others. But what marks a true disciple of Christ? In this four-part series, Dr. Michael Youssef turns to the inerrant Scriptures to answer that urgent question. Through the teachings of Jesus, he reveals the Biblical marks of genuine discipleship: unwavering loyalty to Christ, supernatural love that reflects His heart, and a life that imitates His sacrificial mission. In a culture that rejects Truth, believers must repent of complacency, depend on the Holy Spirit, and faithfully proclaim the Gospel. True disciples follow Jesus, live like Jesus, and point a desperate world to the saving power of His cross.

Whose Disciple? (Part 3)

Love One Another in Christ

In Part 3 of Whose Disciple?, Dr. Michael Youssef declares that true disciples of Jesus Christ are marked by supernatural love. According to the inerrant Word of God, believers are not called to affirm sin, but to love as Christ loved—with Truth, holiness, forgiveness, and obedience. Because Jesus is the divine Son of God, His love is the only perfect pattern for His disciples. This kind of love is not natural; it requires repentance, surrender to the Holy Spirit, and a willingness to forgive as Christ forgives. As believers intercede before the Father for those who wound them, they display redemptive love and bear clear witness to the world that they belong to Jesus.
