We not only have other Christians around us; we have books and tapes and seminars and conferences. All these things can help, but they are no replacement for that determined walk with God, that surrender we have to have in our walk with God. We often say, "I want to do this and that for God." We can't do anything for God. All we can do is surrender everything to God, and He will use us. He will say, "Okay. Here's what I want you to do." He will speak to us. He will guide us. He will lead us as long as we are in the Spirit and in the mode of surrender.
